The particular climatic conditions have led to the development of crops such as the grapevine, the fig and the olive. Krk is also known for its large number of plant species, and it is the area around Baška, within the Adriatic context, that is richest in the number of rare and endangered species (endemic species and relicts), such as:

another woodruff; the only area where it grows is Baška. The plant was named after the Hungarian botanist Vinče Borbas (1844-1904).

| Achillea millefolium L.- Yarrow
A plant with medicinal qualities, used for 2000 years. It is 30-60 cm high, flowers from June until the frosts of autumn on dry meadows and pasturelands, and alongside the paths.
The medicinal quality is ascribed to the particular essence it contains, which has an antipyretic action, heals wounds very well and helps to stop bleeding. |  |
| Salvia officinalis L. - Salvia, Sage
The name of this plant derives from the Latin word salvare, to save. It has been known for more than 1500 years. It grows between 50 and 100 cm in height, and has violet flowers. We can find it on dry grasslands and meadows. It is ascribed medicinal qualities, and contains an essence rich in tannin and thujone. Various teas and tinctures can be prepared from the leaves. |  |
| Artemisia absinthium L. - Wormwood
This medicinal aromatic perennial is 60 to 120cm high and has yellow flowers. It can easily be found along paths, by boundary hedges and walls. There are over 200 different kinds of wormwood, 14 of which grow in this area. It is used in folk medicine to cleanse and rid blood from harmful substances. |  |
